"Find it Fix it let nature do the rest"

History of Osteopathy

Birthed by the legendary A.T. Still in Kirksville, Missouri in 1874 out of deep study of bones and anatomy while applying ancient and Native healing principles, out of deep respect for Life's ability to adapt and heal...

The original modality flourished and found further refinement in Europe, staying true to the original philosophy

The Osteopathic Approach: Creating Mobility to Optimize Function of the Whole Body

Muskuloskeletal

Bones and Muscles

Osteopathic techniques to address imbalances in the musckuloskeletal system  are typically more gentle, or rhythmic than traditional chiropractic adjustments. I use a wide range of techniques to achieve postural changes, all the while using the body's restrictions as my road map to uncover the root cause of the imbalances.

The importance of mobilizing all 3 systems...

Craniosacral

Cranial bones, brain, duramater, spinal cord and sacrum

An integral part of Osteopathy- a body work session is not complete until all components are addressed. Craniosacral work is gentle and balances the nervous system, hormonal, endocrine and immune systems and can even impact personality. It is an integral part of bringing a body back to homeostasis.

Visceral

Organs and their fascial connections, nerves and blood vessels

What sets us apart as osteopaths: Addressing the visceral system. European Osteopathic philosophy holds that 80-90% of musculoskeletal imbalances are actually caused by immobilities in the organs themselves! Our work is geared toward finding and eliminating restrictions in the organ system with various techniques that are proven and safe.

Healing Emotions

Body's Innate Wisdom

Clients often hear me say that every cell of the body has innate intelligence. Aside from the grander application of that idea to having consent of the body to do our work, we can also think about the emotional component of healing.  The body keeps score and emotions can become stuck within fascia, organs, the brain- anywhere. Osteopathy calls these emotional cysts- and they often come up in sessions. We can help the body release them in a supportive environment. Sometimes it is the human who needs assistance so that the animal can heal.

Holistic Nutrition and Supplement Advice

Osteopathic work is not complete without also addressing any imbalances in the body's digestive and endocrine systems. I use a bespoke approach to each animal, utilizing Applied Kinesiology, to offer support in the way of optimizing the internal environment through nutrition, herbs, or other recommendations.
